There may come a time that you want to program your own channel into TheCOM. The below video will show you how to do that.
Here are the verbal instructions:
- Insert the hand mic into the front of the radio
- Press the V/M button (to go to frequency mode)
- Enter in the desired frequency & any settings like DCS or CTCSS tones
- Press “Menu” on the mic & using the up or down arrows on the hand mic scroll to menu 44 or type “44” on the hand mic to get to it quickly
- Press the “Menu” button a second time so the arrow on the left hand side of the screen drops to the bottom of the menu
- Type the desired channel number you would like to save the frequency to. Note there is 000 – 199. If you type a channel number that already has a programed frequency this will overwrite the channel that is currently occupying that location.
- Then press “Menu” again to save the channel
- Then press “Exit” to get out of the menu or let it time out.
see the TheCOM Manual for additional information.
The below video will show you how to delete channels that you don’t want.
Can the hand mic used to program the radio be purchased separately and if so how much? Thanks in advance.
Ruben, Thank you for the comment. We don’t sell the hand mics separately. There should be one in your glove compartment bag that we include in each kit that we sell. If you are missing one we should be able to work something out. Please contact us at info@utvcom.com or call us at (208) 779-2891 and we will get you taken care of.
Thanks The COM support team.
